Privacy Policy — PrivyPDF

PrivyPDF is a local-first macOS application. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or documents to external servers.
1. Data Handling
What We Do Not Do
- No cloud uploads. Your PDFs and any extracted content stay on your Mac.
- No analytics or telemetry. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or device identifiers.
- No accounts. PrivyPDF does not require sign-in or registration.
- No third-party data sharing. We do not sell, share, or disclose your data to anyone.
Where Your Data Lives
- PDFs — Stored only in the app's sandbox container on your Mac (
~/Library/Containers/…/PrivyPDF/) - Indexes & embeddings — Built and stored locally in the app's SQLite database
- AI processing — Runs entirely via Ollama on
http://localhost:11434. The app does not ship or download model weights; it communicates only with your local Ollama instance
2. Network Access
PrivyPDF connects only to:
http://localhost:11434— Your local Ollama server (for embeddings and chat)
No other network requests are made for your documents or usage.
3. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
