PrivyMermaid (Android) — Support
Private, offline-first Mermaid diagram editing for Android.
PrivyMermaid for Android is currently a developer preview (version 0.1.0), not a public Google Play release. This page covers the features available in the preview and the current limitations.
Requirements
- Android 13 (API 33) or later
- An Android phone, tablet, foldable, or compatible emulator
- No account and no network connection are required for editing and rendering diagrams.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a diagram?
- Choose the new-document action in the app header.
- Give the diagram a name, then open the Source tab.
- Write Mermaid source. Changes are saved automatically.
- Open Preview to see the locally rendered result.
Can I start from a template?
Yes. Open the Template Library to search and preview the fourteen included software-development templates, then select Use Template to create an editable diagram from one.
Which formats can I import and export?
You can import Mermaid and text files (.mmd and text files)
with the Android document picker. The preview can export or share Mermaid
source, SVG, PNG, and PDF. Choose the destination in Android's system file
or share sheet.
Where are my diagrams stored?
Documents and preferences are stored in PrivyMermaid's private app storage on your device. They are not synced to a PrivyMermaid server. See the Privacy Policy for storage, provider, and file-sharing details.
How do I change the appearance of a diagram?
Use the Preview controls to select one of ten Mermaid themes and one of four canvas backgrounds. Your selections are kept locally for later previews.
Why does a diagram show an error or an empty preview?
- Check the Mermaid source for a syntax error, missing bracket, or unsupported syntax.
- Try a short flowchart first to confirm the preview is working.
- Change the theme or background if the diagram is rendered but hard to see.
- Consult the Mermaid syntax documentation for language help.
AI and provider settings
Settings include developer-preview support for user-configured Ollama, LM Studio, and OpenAI-compatible endpoints. You may use these settings to enter an endpoint, save an optional token securely on-device, and refresh available models.
The release Pro purchase flow and the Generate, Ask, and Fix features are not available in this Android developer preview yet. Do not expect the locked Pro panel to unlock or process a diagram in this preview.
Why can't the app reach my provider?
- Confirm the endpoint URL and port, then use Refresh models in Settings.
- For a LAN Ollama server, make sure the Android device and server can reach each other on the same network.
- Check whether the server requires an API token and whether it supports the selected endpoint format.
- Use a trusted network; plain
http://LAN traffic is not encrypted.
